Linkedin Adding New “Mention” Feature
Linkedin published a post on April 4th announcing their new Facebook like “Mention” feature. Linkedin stated that this feature will allow users to start conversations with other professionals and sharing knowledge easier.
In additional to first degree connections, users can also mention other users that are already engaged in the conversation. Once again, this feature allows users to start conversations easier and allow real time response as users will get notifications when being mentioned.
So how does this feature work? Very similar to Facebook
- Start by typing the name of a connection or a business in your status box or the comment field
- Select the person or business you want to mention from the drop down list and post your message
- The person or business being mentioned will get a notification alerting them that they have been mentioned by you
Simple eh? And very similar to Facebook’s mention right?
At the moment, this feature had only been pushed out to English speaking members but will soon be rolled out to all members.
