YouTube Rolls Out Channel Gadget – Buy Products You Want While Watching Videos on YouTube
Buying a product you like while watching a video on YouTube is no longer a dream, viewers will be able to purchase, view and compare products via YouTube’s new “Channel Gadget” feature. For example, while viewing a How-to video of a certain product or following a recipe video, viewers can view the product via the channel gadget. The following is how Google described the new feature via its blog:
“To shorten the path to purchase and translate video views to sales, today we’re introducing a new channel gadget on YouTube that will enable consumer goods brands to connect consumers directly with retailers throughout the entire YouTube experience. This new channel gadget will enable shoppers to seamlessly move from browsing how-to videos and featured products to finding which retailers carry them, check availability, compare prices and make a purchase, all with fewer clicks than today.”
However, this feature will only be available on the Brand’s channel page and not on videos that are embedded on other sites.
This feature will be a “premium offering” for its consumer goods client and Google suggest advertisers to reach out to their Google representative to learn more about this feature.
